'HR' set For Hollywood pilot

HR is the focus of a new US dramedy. And with Alicia Silverstone as a global HRD, what could possibly go wrong?

Exciting news from Hollywood that a pilot about HR – called ‘HR’ – is currently in the works. Currently being filmed (above), it will star Alicia Silverstone (of Clueless fame) Ellen Bell, Director of Human Resources for a global organisation.

After Silverstone’s character undergoes a crisis caused by a head injury, her entire perspective on life changes, including her approach to business, throwing the company she works for into confusion. Not all of her co-workers welcome her new, more liberated ways.

Directed by Darren Star (Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, Sex and the City), the drama is being made by US production company Kapital Entertainment and will first air on the Lifetime channel in the States.

Co-stars are set to include Kellee Stewart (Hot Tub Time Machine), Cheyenne Jackson (Behind the Candelabra), Greg Germann (Ally McBeal) and Peter Jacobson (House).

Peter Fonda, an up-and-coming actor whose sister apparently used to front exercise videos (just kidding) has also joined the cast as a guest star (a role he plans to reprise if the show is commissioned as a series). The fabulous Fonda will play Jonathan Quaff, one of the founders of the company the drama revolves around.

HR is due to air in 2014. If the pilot is successful, we could find ourselves with a new hit TV series to glue ourselves to. Maybe it’ll be the next Mad (not to work here) Men, Breaking Bad (employment contracts) or Game of (boardroom) Thrones.
